One of the best tennis players of all times, Novak Djokovic, officially opened a new tennis complex in Visoko on Wednesday, which will become the center of regional tennis.

“This is a special day for Visoko and tennis in BiH. We are all great friends here and have known each other for many years. Thank you for coming to magnify this event,” Djokovic said.

At the beginning of his speech, he thanked his rivals for the exhibition matches, the Slovenian Aljaz Bedene, the Croatian Ivan Dodig, and the Bosnian tennis player Aldin Setkic

The host of the ceremony, Semir Osmanagic, said that the tennis courts were opened earlier by the youngest tennis players from Italy, BiH, Serbia and North Macedonia. Osmanagic pointed out that “the focus should definitely be on them, because the world rests on young people”.

The event of the opening of the court is followed by a rich cultural and artistic program, and the day after the program is a three-on-three basketball game with BH basketball players who will share the joy that day with children from homes for children without parental care from several cities in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The construction of this center, which consists of one hard court and one clay court, was organized by the founder of the “Bosnian Pyramid of the Sun” Foundation, Semir Osmanagic, and the best tennis player in the world, Novak Djokovic, while the Olympic Committee of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Tennis Association of Bosnia and Herzegovina are project partners.

A series of tennis matches will be played at the opening ceremony.

“With these courts, a top-quality gym and accommodation facilities, Djokovic will be able to prepare in Visoko. Imagine what kind of message it will send to the world and the region and how many children will be attracted to this sport,” said Osmanagic.

He pointed out that he had already discussed with Djokovic about establishing a tennis academy in Bosnia and Herzegovina. He already has an academy in Belgrade, where young tennis players train on fifteen pitches, and there is an intention to do something similar in Visoko.

This event of the opening of the field will be accompanied by a rich cultural and artistic program, and the day after, the program will include three-on-three basketball with BiH basketball players who will share the joy that day with children from homes for children without parental care from several BH cities.

It is important to note that the financial construction of this project was closed without any level of government in BiH recognizing the importance of the project and helping its organization in any way.
