Doboj Very Abundant in Green Energy

The Doboj region has significant capacity of renewable energy resources, said Saša Đekić, the main engineer for development from the company “Elektrodoboj” and Professor technical school in Doboj.

At the symposium dedicated to this topic in order to attract investment, he said that the potential of the Bosna river in the Doboj region amounts to around 90 megawatts, saying that it may be used to get more than 70 percent of total electricity consumption in the region.

He also mentioned that the mountain rivers in the Teslić region, where a project was successfully implemented last year.

‘’Besides that, the average solar irradiation in this part of the RS amounts to around 1.250 kilowatt-hours per square meter, which offers significant opportunities for the use of solar energy in our region’’, said Đekić.

According to him, in the RS in the last few years much was done regarding creating opportunities for the economically viable use of renewable resources.
