The President of the Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, voted today in Banja Luka in the extraordinary parliamentary elections in Serbia and indicated that an attempt should be made to ensure that all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina entities have automatic Serbian citizenship, which would enable greater integration.

“I exercised my right as a citizen of Serbia to vote in the Consulate in Banja Luka. I see that there is a large turnout, that people are interested in the elections and that this will provide great support to the political forces in Serbia that make it stable,” Dodik told reporters after voting in Consulate General of Serbia in Banja Luka.

He pointed out that a stable Serbia provides support and support to the RS for processes that are uncertain and difficult for the Serbian people and the Republika Srpska.

“That’s why it’s important that we in the Republika Srpska get automatic citizenship of Serbia, to ensure that, and not go through difficult procedures,” said Dodik and added that he insists on this in meetings with the leadership of Serbia, with which the RS has an excellent relationship.

Dodik emphasized that a stable and strong Serbia is in the interest of the people of Republika Srpska.

Answering a question about the fact that certain politicians in Serbia dispute the right to vote for Serbs from Republika Srpska, Dodik said that voters from Republika Srpska received citizenship from Serbia and have the right to vote in Republika Srpska.

“It’s like that in all the countries of the world. According to that principle, no one could vote in Germany, no one could vote in America, there are Serbian citizens there who would find it very expensive to come to Serbia and vote today. organize in embassies and consulates. What’s the difference, what’s the problem?”, asked Dodik.

He added that those who called Republika Srpska all kinds of names during the election campaign are not friends of the RS and the Serbian people.

“Unfortunately for them, Republika Srpska will remain integrated, strong, and a politically significant factor. I am proud of all the people here who have Serbian citizenship,” DOdik said.

In the extraordinary parliamentary elections in Serbia, around 11,500 citizens of Serbia residing in BiH will be able to vote at 19 polling stations. To vote, you need a valid Serbian identification document, that is, an identity card or passport of this country, and polling stations will be open until 8:00 p.m., Srna writes.
