Dodik: I will never leave RS, I would not recommend SIPA to act

After the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina issued an arrest warrant for the President of Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik, the Prime Minister of RS Radovan Višković and the President of the National Assembly of RS Nenad Stevandić, all three announced at a joint press conference that they would not respond to the summons for questioning and that they would continue to work as before.

Dodik stressed that the three of them are not the only ones wanted by the Prosecutor’s Office, but that they are urgently wanted because of the session of the National Assembly of the RS at which the new entity constitution is being discussed today.

“Today we are establishing the Draft, we will finalize the document in a public debate. Our ambition is not for it to be contrary to the Constitution of BiH, but for it to be in accordance with it,” he said.

He assessed that Bosniaks are “destroying RS” by acting, as he said, according to the decisions of a foreigner.

“This is a politically motivated job, there is no law in BiH that contains this act that we are being charged with. We are not upset, we are determined,” Dodik said.

According to him, today the RS National Assembly is passing a special law that envisages the establishment of a special court and prosecutor’s office.

He said that he would travel, but that he would never leave the RS.

“I will never leave the RS. If anyone thinks that we are cowards, they are very mistaken. Our decisions are final,” Dodik said.

According to him, he called on partners in the state-level government to engage in dialogue, but that this did not happen.

“They will not talk. Maybe it is not the time yet, so I will not say that I will not talk to them. We still have time… We did not want this escalation, but we were forced to. This is not the defense of any individual, but the defense of the RS,” Dodik said.

He added that there are no military or paramilitary movements in the RS.

He again called on people from the RS who work in the judicial institutions and police agencies of BiH to leave their jobs.

“This is a court and prosecutor’s office for inquisition, not justice,” he said, adding that he did not believe they would be arrested.

“I would not recommend that SIPA act, I have confidence in the RS Ministry of Interior… I will continue to sign decrees passed by the RS National Assembly,” Dodik said, BHRT writes.
