Dodik: I will not step down as the President of the RS

The President of the Republika Srpska (RS) Milorad Dodik said that by signing the decree he respected the Constitution, as he did two days ago when it came to the promulgation of the Law on Amendments to the Criminal Code, and added that it was his legal obligation after the decision was voted in the National Assembly of the RS (NARS).

“This is where we come to the key point. Schmidt, who is falsely presenting himself, was not allowed to attack the NARS but attacked the President of the RS who signed the Decree. That is why he is attacking the President of the NARS. He came here to dispense justice and say how the Prosecutor’s Office should work, how someone should interrogate Stevandic. That doesn’t exist anywhere in the world,” Dodik told reporters in Banja Luka.

Dodik mentioned that “all these years he worked flawlessly in protecting national interests”.

Moreover, Dodik reiterated that the property issue of RS has been resolved and pointed out that he was threatened with a ban on political work.

“They won’t ban my life. What if I am banned from political work? Does anyone think that I will step down as president of RS? Now, here is something for a new story. I will not leave. I was not chosen by Schmidt, who is a fake High Representative, nor was I chosen by the Court of BiH so that it can ban me from political activity,” Dodik pointed out.

The President of the RS reminded that other leaders in European Union (EU) countries were also under political and judicial pressure, but that they emerged stronger from that process.

“They have only one intention, to get rid of Dodik. It’s a very complex situation, it’s not easy at all, but I’ll just say that I’m proud of the support I received. I wouldn’t look at politics the way (PDP deputy) Igor Crnadak represents it,” Dodik concluded, Klix.ba reports.
