Dodik: Responsibility lies with Judge, the Verdict could have fatal Consequences for BiH

After the hearing in which the closing arguments were presented in the case against the President of the Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik and the acting director of the RS Official Gazette Miloš Lukić, Dodik addressed the press.

“It has been shown that the Prosecutor’s Office is in the service of a foreign person, not in the service of BiH. It has been proven that we have not overthrown the RS Constitution, nor the Constitution of BiH. This is a purely political decision. The prosecutors believed that they should be servile to foreigners, but responsible to the Constitution of BiH. Instead of going after the fake Schmidt, they are going after us. Of course, it remains to be seen whether the same is the case with the court. They say that they acted on the orders of the OHR, when they should have acted according to BiH procedures”.

He said that a great responsibility now lies with Judge Sena Uzunović.

“Her role is perhaps even more difficult than the place where I am sitting. We know what the Sarajevo Čaršija is like and that everyone will try to add to it to create a political and legal precedent. They will bear responsibility for the events if we are found guilty. It is not unknown in BiH that legal processes cause huge social processes,” he said.

He added that everything indicates that the Prosecutor’s Office looked pathetic.

“The verdict could also have a fatal outcome for BiH. If we from the RS call for the BiH constitution, there could be no greater proof that we are committed to the letter of Dayton. We were not prepared to overthrow the BiH constitution and that is the only truth, whether someone likes it or not. We defend the BiH constitution, and they are overthrowing it. They say in the courtroom that an individual is being tried, that is true. But, there is only one president and he signed the decree. Why do you think the decision of the High Representative is so important? What do you think if tomorrow that crazy foreigner makes a decision that it is forbidden for women to go to the hairdresser and dye their hair. How will the court rule? He is obviously a follower of some ideology that is failing. What if he says that he prohibits sexual acts between people in order to prevent the population from expanding. How will the court decide then? Whatever the decision is, it will be important. It would be best to abandon this. An acquittal will not cause any movements. Perhaps the Federation will only be dissatisfied. Life in the RS continues. If the verdict is different, ‘he is guilty’, such a decision pushes us to the decisive defense of the RS and its rights”.

He said that he was elected by the people and that I represent them.

“The RS will have the right to its own reflection. What is your goal? That no one is allowed to speak anything anymore? We refer exclusively to the Constitution of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Don’t let it be that we didn’t say. Then don’t pursue us. There is no threat,” he said, Klix.ba writes.
