The President of the Republika Srpska Milorad Dodik said today in Budapest that the possible adoption of the resolution on Srebrenica in the UN General Assembly will complicate the situation in BiH and pointed out that Hungary will vote against, for which, he says, the Republika Srpska is particularly grateful.

Dodik emphasized that Republika Srpska has no open issues with Hungary.

“Our relations are very good, full of understanding, I’m looking forward to all the issues that we implement together. We want our relations to prove to be the best possible in a practical sense,” said Dodik at a press conference after meetings with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of Hungary, Peter Szijjarto.

Szijjarto stated that his country will vote against the resolution on Srebrenica in the UN General Assembly because this document “wants to demonize the Serbian people”.

He says that “the adoption of this resolution could aggravate the situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina”.

“It is also important that threats to introduce sanctions and the interference of foreigners in the internal affairs of this country stop in Bosnia and Herzegovina,” Szijjarto told reporters after the meeting with the President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik.

He stated that BiH’s sovereignty should be restored and that it should not stand in the way of the country’s European integration.

Today in Budapest, Dodik and Szijjarto signed a memorandum of understanding between the RS and Hungary in the field of application of modern technology in healthcare.

The signing was preceded by a working lunch attended by BiH Ambassador to Hungary Biljana Gutić-Bjelica, Minister of Science and Technology Development and Higher Education Željko Budimir and Head of the Representation of the Republic of Srpska in Moscow Duško Perović.

The President of Republika Srpska, Milorad Dodik, also met with the Prime Minister of Hungary, Viktor Orbán, this morning, Srna news agency writes.
