Dodik: We do not want Conflict or War with anyone

The president of Republika Srpska entity, Milorad Dodik, spoke at the ceremonial academy in Banja Luka, which is being held on the occasion of the Day of the Republika Srpska, a holiday whose celebration has been challenged twice by the Constitutional Court of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Dodik used the opportunity to again deny the genocide in Srebrenica, and said: “We do not want conflict or war with anyone, we want Republika Srpska to remain our oasis of freedom.”

“For us, freedom was never a philosophical word, but an existential one. Serbs raised over 140 uprisings in order to live freely and make undoubted sacrifices. They took us to distant camps, our ancestors lost their lives fighting for freedom. We also came”, said Dodik at the beginning and said:

“We didn’t want war and we didn’t give anyone a reason for war. At that moment, the leaders of the Serbian people sacrificed personal and family comfort. Some are deceased, and some are in prisons because they had the courage to lead the people on the path to freedom. Everything that happened to us after the armed conflict was based on a lie created by the West”.

Dodik said that only those who have a goal reach the goal, and that the goal of the Serbian people is actually a Serbian state in these areas.

“On the basis of the West’s lies, a political concept called the Dayton Agreement was created, through which the Serbs were supposed to be punished, and in the process of applying the implementation, we were forced to disappear one day. We know that this is so, and they do not hide it when they say that they had no desire for the Dayton Agreement to be permanent. Only those who have a goal reach the goal, and the goal of the Serbian people is the Serbian state in these areas. We do not want a conflict or war with anyone, we want Republika Srpska to remain our oasis of freedom. We don’t want anyone to be a threat, we have no intention of attacking anyone”.

He repeated that “Serbs want a constitutional position in BiH”.

“We decided that when we lost our ethnic areas, the Serbs accepted the Dayton Agreement, considering it to be our demarcation. That is why today it is called a border line, we believe that this border, such as the entity border, was never intended to be only provisional, if our talks are unsuccessful, it will become permanent. We want a constitutional position in BiH. Every day when I go to work, I think that we have been standing still for a long time without making a decision. The agony of the seizure of Kosovo and the RS has been going on for 30 years. Why can’t we have a goal and everyone else does? We are not the ones who will threaten the peace, we want what is ours”.

Dodik again denied the genocide in Srebrenica and called it a “terrible crime”.

“Karadžić and Mladić were the people who led the Republika Srpska, and you will not convince us that the Serbian people had genocidal or any criminal urge. We fought for freedom”, Klix.ba writes.
