The American KC-135 Stratotanker refueling aircraft which took off from Great Britain today is currently circling over Bosnia and Herzegovina and was sent to provide mid-air refueling for the F-16 aircraft that will be conducting the exercise.
It took off from Suffolk Airport near Mildenhall in the UK at 10:24. Although the airport belongs to the British Air Force, it supports the operations of the aviation of the United States of America.
As previously announced by the US Embassy in BiH, two F-16 fighters, “Fighting Falcons,” of the US Air Force will conduct a bilateral ground-air exercise with JTAC teams from the US Army Special Forces (SOF) and the Armed Forces of Bosnia and Herzegovina (OSBiH) on in the area of Tuzla and Brčko today, January 8 in the afternoon.
American aircraft will return to base immediately after the mission is completed. The ability to rapidly deploy, locate a target, and return to base demonstrates the US’s capacity to project power anywhere in the shortest possible time and to operate together with allies and partners, Klix.ba writes.
