Milorad Dodik was a guest on Face television today and, as many times before, repeated the story of the alleged, as he says, disassociation with the Federation of BiH entity. Although he inserted one new moment, the story of “disengagement” is meaningless.
The political leader of the RS entity knows that such statements attract the attention of the public, because with such threats, he becomes the subject of conversation, appears to be a dangerous and intractable problem in the state, and thus tries to strengthen his position.
“No one is declaring secession, we are not separating from Bosnia and Herzegovina. We do not have any secession plan. The plan is that if all our efforts do not establish a correct system of relations – to break up with the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The story of secession is a hoax,” said Dodik.
Then tonight he added a new detail to the already established story.
“I am ready to pay you two billion in ten years, to give you compensation, because there is no way for us to live together. We are ready to hand over Potočari territorially to you”, said Dodik.
Along with the meaningless story about compensation, Dodik injects terminology into the public space that does not hold water in reality.
Namely, the term separation, although it seems quite ordinary, in reality it is planned.
Because if someone uses that term, i.e. the term disassociation, they indirectly accept that there used to be some association. This is the basis of Milorad Dodik’s secessionist story, namely that BiH, according to his baseless claims, was created by the union of two entities in Dayton. Because such a narrative serves him more easily to impose rhetoric about secession, which amuses the public above all in the RS entity.
The first article of the Constitution of BiH talks about the continuity of the state.
“The Republic of Bosnia and Herzegovina, whose official name is from now on “Bosnia and Herzegovina”, continues its legal existence under international law as a state, with the internal structure modified by this Constitution, and with the existing internationally recognized borders. It remains a member state of the United Nations and can, like Bosnia and Herzegovina, retain its membership or request admission to organizations within the United Nations system, as well as other international organizations,” it was stated at the beginning of the Constitution of BiH.
However, Dodik and his politics emphasize the sentence from the Constitution which says that BiH in the administrative sense consists of two entities. But Dodik ignores the notion of state continuity. Therefore, all the talk about any separation, about any payment of billions for compensation, the mention of Potočari in the real political sense is empty and meaningless and serves only to heat up the political atmosphere, Klix.ba reports.
