Double Less Births than Deaths in Republika Srpska

In Republika Srpska (RS), one of the entities in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in the first quarter of this year, 4,440 deaths were registered, and only 2,090 were born, data from the entity Institute for Statistics revealed.

It was also warned that the number of births decreased in the first three months of this year compared to the same period last year.

There were 1.048 boys and 1.042 girls born, while in the same period in 2018 1.079 boys and 1.014 girls were born.

The number of deceased persons in the first quarter of this year in the RS is higher than in the comparative period.

For the first month of 2019, RS was left without 2,271 women and 2,169 men.

Also, the statistics point out that in the same period, there were more displaced (1,789) than people who returned (1,780).
