Meet the First and Only International Non Smoking Hotel in BiH

marriotThe only hotel that actually sits right on the Miljacka is the brand new Marriott Residence Inn. In another first, it’s also the only internationally branded hotel in the whole of Bosnia & Herzegovina.

The Marriott opened in December with 75 suites, each of which has floor-to-ceiling windows and a private balcony to enjoy those river views. Since it’s designed for longer stays, there’s plenty of space. There’s also a 24-hour Market, a fitness center and lots of public space to work in, when you want to switch things up. They even offer free grocery delivery. We didn’t have time to go inside, but can assume that the service is good – Bosnian service overall is very hospitable, if sometimes not quite what you’re used to, so Bosnian service crossed with chain hotel expectations should be something quite special. There are only three TripAdvisor reviews so far, but they are all excellent.

Also, there’s one more first. This is also, apparently, the first non-smoking hotel in Sarajevo.

Rooms start from €75 ($88), which is slightly higher than average – a three star hotel in the city center costs around €50.
