fna_39093_predsjednistvo_obiljeThe international day of fight against violence over women is marked on November 25 and aims at pointing to the importance of awareness about this issue which is the most spread out and the most frequent form of violation of human rights in BiH. It is also aimed at education people about ways in which they can prevent violence and sexual abuse of women.

Campaign “Silence is not golden” will last in BiH from November 24 until December 10. Within the campaign, many activities of governmental and non-governmental sector will be implemented in order to point to the problem of victims and survivors of violence and sexual abuse and problems of institutions responsible for penalizing the perpetrators.

fna_39094_skupstinaThe orange day will be marked today in ten BiH cities: Sarajevo, Mostar, Banja Luka, Tuzla, Zenica, East Sarajevo, Bijeljina, Bihać, Orašje and Brčko. Also, a petition will be signed which requires stricter criminal laws related to violence against women and children and their harmonization with the conventions of the Council of Europe and the United Nations, and stricter criminal laws related to domestic violence and sexual abuse.

In sign of support for the victims and the fight against violence over women, buildings of the Presidency of BiH, the Council of Ministers of BiH and the Parliamentary Assembly were lit up in orange color last night.
