vladaMunicipal Council of Novi Grad Sarajevo adopted a draft on the urban project ‘Sports and Recreational Center Dobrinja’ at its session and sent it to public hearing for a period of one month, after which it would be sent to the Council for adoption, announced on the website of the municipality.

This is a project from the program ‘Lets Start Novi Grad Together’, whose construction is planned near the Dobrinja high school, and for which Novi Grad municipality would receive for the first time open pools with supporting sports and recreational events.

The urban project envisages construction of a big open pool and a smaller pool for children. In addition, there are plans for sports facilities for sand volleyball, as well as catering facilities.

‘’This project is very important for municipality Novi Grad, as well as the neighborhood Dobrinja, which has more than 30.000 inhabitants, and which currently lacks such facilities’’, said the municipality.

The project proposal is planned to have the pool serve as a multifunctional surface, which could be turned into a skating rink during the winter, and in the period where it is not possible to swim in an open pool, it could be used as a sports surface for basketball, volleyball, football, etc.

Also, they have planned a landscaping area, where green areas would comprise at least 30 percent of the total surface area. Around the center there will be benches, lighting, pedestrian areas and other things that would enhance and compliment this part of Novi Grad.
