Chairman of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Sefik Dzaferovic, met on Thursday in Sarajevo with the Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany to BiH Margret Uebber and discussed the continuation and acceleration of BiH’s European path during the German Presidency of the European Union.

The interlocutors pointed out  that Germany, as a great friend of Bosnia and Herzegovina, provides strong support to the European perspective of our country.

Also, they emphasized the need for BiH institutions to make additional efforts to fulfill 14 recommendations from the Opinion of the European Commission, in order for BiH to be granted candidate status in the near future.

Dzaferovic informed Ambassador Uebber about the preparations for marking of the 25th anniversary of the genocide against Bosniaks in the “UN Safe Zone of Srebrenica”.

For her part, Ambassador Uebber informed Dzaferovic that the highest officials of Germany will participate in marking of the 25th anniversary of the genocide in Srebrenica, emphasizing that commemoration will be organized in Germany in memory of the victims of genocide.
