Dzaferovic: The current Situation in BiH is dangerous

Sefik Dzaferovic, a member of the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina (BiH) was one of the speakers at yesterday’s European People’s Party Summit on the Western Balkans (EPP Western Balkan Summit), which was held in Ljubljana.

In his speech, Dzaferovic, among other things, informed the present officials about the current situation in our country.

“I do not want to present things better than they are: the current situation in BiH is dangerous and worrying. State institutions have not been functioning for several months because Republika Srpska (RS) entity officials have refused to attend sessions. They claim the reason is Inzko’s law, but that is not true,” pointed out Dzaferovic.

He explained that Inzko’s law is not the reason for the current blockades in BiH, but only an excuse.

“RS politicians carried out blockades even months before Inzko’s law. They have been carrying them out for years, finding various reasons and excuses. Yesterday, it was the Constitutional Court’s decisions that they did not like; today it is Inzko’s law or the election of a new High Representative (HR); tomorrow there will be something else. The real reason and goal are always the same: to block the work of the state, to create the idea that it is impossible, and to demand its disbandment, in accordance with the secessionist agenda, which does not want peace and progress, but some goals from past centuries, ” Dzaferovicexplained.

Also, he emphasized that any state, whose highest officials would not come to the sessions, could not function.

“It is not the fault of the state, but of those officials. The only difference between European states and BiH is that we do not have a domestic mechanism for sanctioning such blockades,” Dzaferovic mentioned.

He concluded that building a functioning state represents the biggest challenge for BiH.

“That is why it is very important that we continue as strongly as possible and that we complete the process of full integration of all Western Balkan countries into the European Union (EU) as soon as possible. For a more peaceful and prosperous Western Balkans. For a more peaceful and prosperous EU,” Dzaferovic concluded during his address, Klix.ba writes.
