Džeko – 11th athlete of the Balkans

BiH football player Edin Džeko, according to Bulgarian News Agency (BTA) is the 11th best athlete of the Balkans.

The best athlete of 2012 is Serbian tennis player Novak Đoković, followed by Turkish middle distance runner Aslı Çakır Alptekin and Croatian discus thrower Sandra Perković.

– List of Best athletes according to BTA:

1st Novak Djokovic (Serbia) – Tennis – 94 points

2nd Aslı Cakir Alptekin (Turkey) – Athletics – 75

3rd Sandra Perković (Croatia) – Athletics – 74

4th Sandra Izbasa (Romania) – artistic gymnastics – 48

5th Miho Bošković (Croatia) – Water Polo-40

6th Milica Mandić (Serbia) – Taekwondo – 38

7th Ivet Lalova (Bulgaria) – Athletics – 27

8th Alin Moldoveanu (Romania) – Shooting – 25

9th Bojana Popović (Montenegro) – Handball – 23

10th Vassilis Spanoulis (Greece) – Basketball – 22

11th Edin Džeko (Bosnia and Herzegovina) – Football – 17

13th Bo McCalebb (Macedonia) – Basketball – 15

FBiH News Agency (FENA) also participated in selecting the best athletes of the Balkans
