Edin Džeko is the winner of Sixth April Award of City of Sarajevo which is, as he said, the biggest recognition a Sarajevo citizen could get, the award from his own city, reports FENA.
Džeko always said that all awards are dear to him, but that one would have a special place in his heart- the Sixth April Award.
‘They say for Sarajevo that it is the city that forgives everything but success, but in my case, thanks to this award, it shows that that is not true. Sarajevo is the city that gives you back all that you’ve given to it. It is hard to express my emotions, I’m very proud and thrilled. When the Association ‘Education builds BIH’ nominated me for the award, which I’m very grateful for, I secretly hoped to win, because there is no greater honour than to accepted by the area where you were born’, said Džeko and thanked the City, the Association, Jovan Divjak and to all those who recognised him as a person who deserves the award.
‘I have no words to describe how I feel. Thank you all very much’, added Džeko.
