E. Subašić For “Sarajevo Times”: The clear message from the International Community is that nobody should seek to further destabilize the situation

The Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council (PIC) calls on governmental representatives to ensure the proper functioning of the FBiH, and the High Representative Valentin Inzko consulted with representatives of the international community today on this issue, confirmed the Spokesperson of OHR Eldar Subašić for “Sarajevo Times”.

Specifically, at tomorrow’s session of PIC in Sarajevo, Ambassadors could possibly reach a decision on the basis of which the High Representative to BiH Valentin Inzko should use the Bonn powers and end the blockade of the FBiH and its institutions.

“Given the current disputes in the Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, the need for functioning institutions – especially the Constitutional Court – has never been greater. The responsibility of elected officials towards the Federation and its citizens remains as solemn as ever; it is a duty they took upon themselves when the electorate gave them a mandate and when they took their oaths of office. The clear message from the International Community is that nobody should seek to further destabilize the situation”, said Subašić.
