The Central Election Commission of Bosnia and Herzegovina held a session yesterday at which, among other things, a decision was made to repeat the counting of ballots in several places, following the early elections for the President of Republika Srpska.
As they pointed out in the statement, the Main Counting Center was ordered to conduct a re-control counting of ballots from regular polling stations and determine the results of the elections in the basic electoral units.
These are the polling stations: 083B028 in the Zvornik electoral unit, 034B113 in the Banja Luka electoral unit, and 011B014B in the Laktaši electoral unit.
In addition, as they stated, in order to find an extract from the Central Voters’ Register, the Central Election Commission of BiH ordered the Main Counting Center to open bags with voting material in three more places.
These are polling stations 010B046 in Bosanska Gradiška, 200C086 in Brčko District and 029B130 in Bijeljina.
The main counting center will begin its activities according to the above orders at 3 pm today, the CEC also said.
As a reminder, Siniša Karan (SNSD) defeated Branko Blanuša (SDS) with just over 8,000 votes, but opposition parties have alleged vote-rigging and other electoral irregularities across the RS.
