The World Bank approved 81.7 Million Euros for the Modernization of the Road Foca – Scepan Polje

The Board of Directors of the World Bank has confirmed a loan arrangement worth EUR 81.7 million for the modernization of the highway Brod na Drina (Foča) – Hum (Šćepan Polje), it was announced at today’s meeting between the Prime Minister of the Republic of Srpska Sava Minic and the head of the World Bank Office for Bosnia and Herzegovina Christopher Sheldon.

Minic expressed his gratitude to the World Bank for its support in the implementation of this extremely important project, which will solve one of the biggest infrastructure challenges in this part of Republika Srpska and significantly improve the road connection with Montenegro.

At the same time, it was announced that the competent authorities of the World Bank will soon confirm a project worth 30.7 million euros in the field of agriculture, that is, irrigation, as part of the previously agreed project to improve the resilience and competitiveness of agriculture.

Also, the readiness of the World Bank to support the reconstruction of psychiatric clinics in the Republic of Srpska was expressed, while, in the field of energy, their interest in financing the project of installing solar panels on the roofs of 50,000 households in the Republic of Srpska was confirmed, which will be followed by negotiations with Elektroprivreda in April this year.

In addition, at the end of this month, negotiations will begin on the request of Republika Srpska for financing the project of mass real estate assessment, improvement of e-governance and development of geospatial data infrastructure, worth 35.1 million euros, the Public Relations Bureau of the RS Government announced.
