Bosnian national team competitor Adnan Alagić won three gold medals in the Men’s Physique category at the 2026 IBFF World Championship, including gold in the Pro League, making him world champion for the fifth time and earning him a plaque for “2026 Athlete of the Year.”
Adnan Alagić achieved historic success at the 2026 IBFF World Championship, the World Bodybuilding and Fitness Championship held in Koper. The Bosnian national team competitor won three medals in total in the Men’s Physique category, including one gold in Pro League Men’s Physique, becoming the Men’s Physique World Champion for the fifth time in his career.
In addition to three gold medals and the fifth world title, Alagić also received special recognition: the “2026 Athlete of the Year” plaque.
The championship brought together competitors from more than 40 countries worldwide, which gave this year’s edition a strong international character.
Three gold medals, a fifth world champion title, and recognition for the Athlete of the Year represent the crown of years of hard work, discipline, and sacrifice that Alagić has invested in his sports career.
“I am still trying to find the right words to describe what I feel. Winning three medals in Men’s Physique, including gold in Pro League, becoming the world champion for the fifth time, and receiving recognition for Athlete of the Year- this is truly special to me. There are years of hard work, sacrifice, discipline, and many difficult moments behind this,” Alagić said.
Representing Bosnia and Herzegovina on the major international stage once again holds a special emotional meaning for him.
“Every time I step onto the stage, I am not just representing myself. I represent my Konjic, my Bosnia and Herzegovina. When the flag of Bosnia and Herzegovina is raised on the highest podium, everything I went through during preparation has meaning,” Alagić said.
Following his major success, Alagić especially thanked his coach Vladica Jovanović, who was by his side throughout the entire preparation process.
“A big thank you goes to my coach Vladica Jovanović for every piece of advice, every workout, his patience, support, and belief in me. This result does not belong just to me. A great deal of this victory belongs to him and everything we did together during the preparations,” Alagić emphasized.
He also expressed special gratitude to his family, which, as he emphasized, was the biggest support throughout all his years in sports.
“My family was by my side in the best of times, but also in the hardest moments. Their support, understanding, and love gave me the strength to keep going during the hardest moments. This success is theirs too,” Alagić said, adding:
“I am grateful from the bottom of my heart to everyone who stood by me, believed in me, and supported my path. Every support meant the world to me and served as extra motivation to keep pushing forward,” Alagić concluded.
The 2026 IBFF World Championship in Koper will hold a special place in Alagić’s sports career.
Three gold medals in Men’s Physique, including gold in Pro League Men’s Physique, a fifth world champion title, and the “2026 Athlete of the Year” plaque mark another great chapter in his career and continuation of his success on the international stage.
For Alagić, however, the greatest value of this success remains the opportunity to promote his country through sports.
“This is not just my victory. This is for all the people who believed in me, for my Konjic, and for my Bosnia and Herzegovina. I am proud to have once again had the opportunity to stand on the world podium with my country’s flag.”, Klix.ba writes.
