Edin Džeko (40), the record holder for the number of appearances and goals scored in the jersey of the BiH national team, says goodbye to the jersey with the national coat of arms, on October 2 at the Bilino Polje stadium in Zenica in a match against Sweden.
On this occasion, they announced from FS BiH and sent a message to everyone who will come to the stadium.
“In order to make Edin’s farewell even more beautiful and special, we invite you to bring a stuffed toy to the stadium, which you will keep with you until the very end of the game. The plan is that when Džeko is in the circle of honor greeting the tribune by tribune, “teddies” will fly towards him from the tribune he is greeting at that moment, which, in cooperation with the humanitarian association Pomozi.ba, will be forwarded to children’s homes throughout Bosnia and Herzegovina.” they state from FS BiH and add:
“Plush toys must not be thrown towards the field during the match, and when the official announcer calls, that is, when Edin starts his last round on the Bilino polje field, send him a gift in the form of a “teddy”!”
We remind you that Edin Džeko made his debut in the jersey of the BiH national team back in 2007, and since 2014 he has been the captain of Zmajev.
Džeko has 151 appearances and 73 goals before the last game in the BiH jersey.
