9256The Mayor of Sarajevo Ivo Komšić held a meeting with a Swiss delegation, led by the Ambassador of Switzerland H.E. Andre Schaller and Edmond Offermann, the initiator of donations of cable cars to Sarajevo from the Swiss Winter Center Grachen.

Expressing satisfaction with their activities undertaken so far of the City of Sarajevo on the project of the Trebević cable cars, Offerman signed a letter of intent yesterday at the meeting on support to the Trebević cable cars, with an agreement that in July of this year a Memorandum of understanding will be signed.

Mayor Komšić spoke to Offerman on the progress of work on the cable cars. ‘’We are pleased with what has been done so far. We settled the legal and formal relations, signed an agreement with the cantonal government, which transferred ownership of the cable cars to the city, which was not the case up until now. Also, we received a zoning approval from municipality Stari Grad, which is already working on the process of expropriation of land where the new cable car poles will be found. With such dynamics, we hope that the first pillar would be set in May, as we agreed’’, said Mayor Komšić.

H.E. Schaller thanked Mr. Offerman for his donation, which would help in the restoration of this important symbol for the citizens of Sarajevo, and expressed satisfaction with the work done so far by the administration of the City of Sarajevo.
