The Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Zukan Helez, will be visiting Cairo in the next few days to further promote the evolving bilateral cooperation in the field of defence between Egypt and Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The Ambassador of Egypt in Sarajevo, Walid Haggag, announced that this will be the second official visit by Minister Helez to Cairo in less than 9 months, following his first official visit to Egypt in September last year.
Ambassador Haggag stated that the visit is a testament to the shared commitment between the two countries to foster their friendly and growing bilateral partnership, and to further expand their defence cooperation and exchanges in particular. He highlighted that the visit will witness the signature of a formal and structured Agreement of Cooperation in the Field of Defence between the Government of the Arab Republic of Egypt and the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Minister Helez will hold extensive discussions with his Egyptian counterpart, Lieutenant General Ashraf Salem Zaher, as well as with the Egyptian Minister of Military Production and other senior military officials. He will also tour a number of military production facilities and ascertain Egypt’s advanced defence industry capabilities and the potential additional areas of cooperation that could be initiated between the defence industries in both countries.
Ambassador Haggag also announced that Minister Helez will be received during his visit by the Egyptian Minister of Foreign Affairs, Dr. Badr Abdelatty, during which the two ministers will exchange views on further advancing the overall bilateral relationship between Egypt and Bosnia and Herzegovina in a manner that is commensurate with the cordial and long standing partnership between the two countries and their peoples.
The Ambassador welcomed the growing momentum and shared commitment aimed at expanding the bilateral partnership between the two countries, and stated that both sides will continue to promote their cooperation in the areas of diplomatic coordination, trade, economic exchanges, tourism and capacity building, in addition to the field of defence.
