Eight Months Imprisonment for Unauthorized Trafficking in Excise Products

Accused Čedo Popović, born in 1964 in Banja Luka, fully pleaded guilty to the indictment charging him with the criminal offense of Unauthorized Trafficking in Excise Products under Article 210a of the Criminal Code of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The said accused entered a guilty plea agreement with a prosecutor of the Special Department for Organised Crime, Economic Crime and Corruption.

The agreement stipulates that the accused be sentenced to eight months in prison and that a large quantity of illegally traded cigarettes and cut tobacco on which excise duties have not been paid in accordance with the financial regulations and legislation of Bosnia and Herzegovina be confiscated.

By signing the agreement, the accused fully admitted his guilt for the said criminal offense.

The prison sentence in the duration of eight months and the confiscation of hundreds of packs of cigarettes and cut tobacco with a total market value of tens of thousands of BAM proposed.

After deliberation, the Court of BiH accepted the guilty plea agreement.
