Eight new cases of leptospirosis have been reported in the Sarajevo Canton, according to the Cantonal Institute of Public Health.
According to the latest data, a total of 43 cases have now been registered, and there have been no deaths.
The largest number of patients is in the Sarajevo municipalities of Novi Grad and Centar, and there are no confirmed cases of infection only in Hadžići, Vogošća, Ilijaš and Trnovo.
When it comes to the age structure of those infected, 34 are between 30 and 65 years old.
An epidemic of the infectious disease leptospirosis in the Sarajevo Canton was declared on May 23.
