A member of the Visočica Mountaineering Society from Sarajevo, Fatih Subasic (11), successfully climbed the highest peak of the Republic of Turkey – Mount Ararat, 5,137 meters high, one of the most symbolic mountains in the world, this morning at 06:47 local time. The expedition was carried out at the end of July 2025, and the climb to the highest peak of Ararat required altitude acclimatization, exceptional physical fitness, mental toughness and a high degree of discipline. Fatih, with the support of his father and team, overcame all the challenges of this demanding climb.

During the expedition, Fatih showed exceptional readiness and perseverance. This made him the third youngest mountaineer in the world to have climbed this challenging peak.

Fatih is an active member of the Visočica Mountaineering Society. His father, Nihad Subasic – an experienced mountaineer and long-time member of the Society – played a key role in the preparations for this feat. His knowledge, experience and dedication were crucial to the success of the expedition.

Mountaineering association ‘Visočica’ points out that this feat goes beyond the limits of sporting success because it sends a strong message about the importance of a healthy and active childhood, love for nature and the courage of young people to face challenges.

“Fatih’s success is a source of pride for our society and Bosnia and Herzegovina, a motivation for many young people to follow his example. We thank all the members of the Society, the guides and the Subašić family for their trust and support in the realization of that expedition,” it was announced from PD Visočica Sarajevo.
