Speaking during an assessment at the IDF Central Command, Gallant said: “Hamas’ main objective is to take Ramadan, with an emphasis on the Temple Mount and Jerusalem, and turn it into the second phase of its plan that began on October 7th. This is the main goal of Hamas to be strengthened by Iran and Hezbollah.”

Earlier, Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s office announced that Israel will restrict access to the Al-Aqsa Mosque for Muslim worshipers during the upcoming holy month of Ramadan in accordance with security needs.
Al-Aqsa, one of the holiest sites in the world for Muslims, is located on top of a hill in Jerusalem’s Old City where Jews also pray to God because the temple was located there from biblical times.
Rules on access to Al-Aqsa are a frequent source of tension, especially during holidays including Ramadan, which this year begins on March 11th, Klix.ba writes.
