Cherry blossoms, which are the symbol of spring in Japan, bloomed earlier this year due to higher temperatures during February.
Cherry blossoms in Japan usually bloom in March and April, when city streets are covered in pink and white blossoms, attracting millions of visitors.
Certain flowers, such as those in Kawazu, bloom earlier, usually at the end of February.
However, current footage from the city of the same name shows that the flower is in full bloom even in mid-February. Kawazu is a small town on the east coast of the Izu Peninsula.
The streets of Kawazu are covered in pink blossoms as during the peak of the season and there are fears that they will soon begin to wither before the very end of the cherry blossom festival.
A similar situation is expected in Tokyo due to the mild winter and higher temperature.
