Mélanie Joly, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada, the country that currently chairs the organization of the seven most developed countries in the world and a member of the Steering Board of the Peace Implementation Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina, has, at the request of the Genocide Research Institute of Canada, sent the official position of the Government of Canada on the anti-civilizational celebration of the unconstitutional January 9th as the Day of the RS entity.
The Minister clearly expressed once again the position of the Government of Canada on Bosnia and Herzegovina:
“Canada condemns the unconstitutional celebration of January 9 as the Day of the RS Entity. Canada fully supports the territorial integrity, sovereignty and independence of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Canada supports the full integration of Bosnia and Herzegovina into Euro-Atlantic structures. Canada supports a stable, secure and multi-ethnic democracy in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Canada, together with its international partners, will not allow any destabilization of Bosnia and Herzegovina, endangering peace, stability and the Dayton Agreement. Canada supports the decisions of the Peace Implementation Council in Bosnia and Herzegovina”.
Canada has become one of the most important international partners of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the culture of remembrance and a strong advocate for strengthening the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Emir Ramić, Director of the Genocide Research Institute of Canada, thanked the Minister and the Canadian government for the correct attitude towards the citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Canada, for its political and material support to Bosnia and Herzegovina. Canada is an important and developed country that is good to have by the side of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
We call on the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina to take much more care of diplomatic relations with Canada. It is time for Bosnia and Herzegovina to be represented in Canada by truly Bosnian and Herzegovinian, not entity or party ambassadors.
The Bosnian and Herzegovinian diaspora in Canada has sent a request to the Presidency of Bosnia and Herzegovina to include Canada in the national rotation of ambassadors. In the current geopolitical circumstances, it is very important who diplomatically represents the state of Bosnia and Herzegovina in Canada.
