Embassy of Pakistan in Sarajevo Marks ‘Kashmir Black Day’

Sarajevo, October 27, 2025 – The Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Sarajevo joined Pakistani diplomatic and consular missions around the world in commemorating “Kashmir Black Day” to condemn what it described as seventy-eight years of India’s illegal occupation of Jammu and Kashmir and to reaffirm Pakistan’s support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination.

In a statement shared by the Embassy of Pakistan in Sarajevo, the observance marks October 27, 1947, when Indian troops landed in Srinagar, which Pakistan considers the beginning of India’s unlawful control over the region. The Embassy said that since then, the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) have faced “a systematic campaign of oppression and subjugation.”

To mark the day, Ambassador Syed Qaiser Abbas Shah addressed a gathering of the Pakistani-Bosnian business community in Konjic, which was also attended by the Mayor of Jablanica, Emir Muratović, along with representatives of local institutions, civil society, and community members.

Ambassador Qaiser paid tribute to what he called the “rightful struggle” of the Kashmiri people and reaffirmed Pakistan’s continued political, diplomatic, and moral support for their cause.

“The observance of Kashmir Black Day each year serves as a reminder of the grave injustices endured by the people of Jammu and Kashmir for more than seven decades,” the Embassy’s statement added, emphasizing solidarity with their “legitimate struggle for the right to self-determination” in accordance with United Nations Security Council resolutions, according to the Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan in Sarajevo.
