The Embassy of the Russian Federation in Bosnia and Herzegovina has issued a diplomatic note officially stating that it does not accept Christian Schmidt as the new High Representative in BiH.
The note states that the United Nations Security Council did not formally agree to Schmidt’s candidacy and that therefore Russia does not consider him a legitimate High Representative, RTRS writes.
The High Representative in BiH, Christian Schmidt, took office in early August, and on the 3rd he officially met with two members of the BiH Presidency.
Milorad Dodik, who does not accept his appointment, neither wanted to attend then, nor did the Republika Srpska entity.
The reason for their non-acceptance of Schmidt is that he was not approved by the UN Security Council, and the aversion was further intensified by former High Representative Valentin Inzko, who imposed a ban on genocide denial upon his departure
