B&H national team member and experienced 34-year-old defender, Emir Spahić, will continue his career at the German Bundesliga club HSV (Hamburger Sport-Verein).

Even though last few days, transfer rumors were mostly concentrated on Hertha, Spahić ended up in the club whose jersey was once worn by Hasan Salihamidžić and Sergej Barbarez.

The information on Spahić’s arrival to HSV was published on the official web page of the club. After he finishes a medical examination, he will sign one-year contract, and will arrive at the club as a free player.

“Emir is the top class player, and he will bring us the stability which we need in our situation. We discussed about his incident in Leverkusen, and decided to sign him at the end,” said Director of HSV, Dietmar Beiersdorfer.

Spahić will join his new team at the training camp on Monday.

During his career, popular Spaha played for FC Čelik, GOŠK Dubrovnik, FC Dinamo Zagreb, Shinnik Yarolsavi, Torpedo Moscow, Lokomotiv Moscow, Montpellier, Seville, Anzhi and Bayer Leverkusen.

He played for the junior national team of B&H, and he is currently a member of our A team.

Besides HSV, FC Hertha, Dinamo Zagreb, Panathinaikos, Beskitas and Galatasaray were interested in 34-year-old Spahić.
