etfThe Local Committee of Sarajevo of the Electrical Engineering Students’ Association of Europe EESTEC will organize an expert workshop from 15-22 August called ‘eMovie Academy 2013’. eMovie Academy is an international workshop for students of electrical engineering in Europe, which is getting to know Sarajevo through filming short documentary films.

The aim of this project is to provide participants to learn the principles of recording, editing and setting up a short film, and in this way to show their creativity. This is why the workshop is being set up during a time when Sarajevo is the center of film, the Sarajevo Film Festival.

Participants would first listen to lectures that will be led by the docent of the Academy of Performing Arts, Faruk Lončarević, and after that they will have the chance to make their own short film. This is an excellent opportunity for young people throughout Europe to learn more about life in BIH because the themes of the movies are tied to Sarajevo. By making films, participants will get to know about life in Sarajevo and with the cultural-historical sights of the city and the country.

This is the third time in a row the project is being organized under the same name. The first two also took place during the Sarajevo Film Festival, in 2010 and 2011. The success of the first two is the reason for another workshop this year. After they return to their cities, participants will present their movies, which would help in the promotion of the city of Sarajevo and the country on an international level.

The Sarajevo Local Committee, since it was founded in October 2006, and accepted to the European Organization EESTEC and until today realized several significant projects of local and international character, such as expert workshops, soft skills trainings and cultural exchanges. Until now, the most significant projects that have been realized were international workshops: Training  for Trainers, My Powerful Software and 2nd Trainers’ Meeting, and international exchanges:  EESTEC Winter Olympic Games Sarajevo and High5 for LC Sarajevo, as well as local projects: workshop Soft Skills Academy and the well known project, the fair for student employment of the technical faculties “Job Fair Use Your Chance!.

eMovie Academy 2013, as well as current international projects organized by EESTEC Local Committee Sarajevo, will be a chance to offer opportunities for students and graduates of electrical engineering faculties in Europe to get to know the rich historical and cultural heritage of Sarajevo and BIH.

The project is supported by the Dean of the Electrical Engineering Faculty of the University of Sarajevo, municipality Center, Canton Sarajevo, and a large number of sponsors such as BH Telecom, which is the general partner of the Association.
