During the past weekend, the Bosnian American Professional Network (BAPN) organized an Employment Fair in St. Louis at which 20 companies from St. Louis region offered jobs for different profiles and levels of expertise.
Jobs offered varied from manager of sales, police officers, truck drivers, engineers, medical workers, translators, construction workers, waiters and other jobs.
President of BAPN Almira Bajrić said at the opening that this fair is one of the first projects directed towards employment of young people from the BiH community in St. Louis and that she expects that a large number of young people will come and find a job. Bajrić added that BAPN will continue supporting the BiH community and launching similar projects.
“We will not give up on working with our community because this is an opportunity to help many people,” Bajrić added.
One of the founders and an active member of BAPN Amir Hotić said that there are many companies and non-governmental organizations in St. Louis whose leaders are people originating from Bosnia and Herzegovina, but that so far no one has organized such projects.
“This project is implemented with a lot of effort by professionals originating from BiH. We, together with our members and volunteers, want to help our youth in finding new or better workplaces,” Hotić added.
Some of the companies that participated in the fair are BJC Health Care, Four Seasons Hotel, Farmers Insurance, FBI, the Police, Wood Brothers Realty, Police Administration St. Louis, and many others. Some of the companies offered professional specialization through professional practice.
At the BAPN’s fair, all interested had an opportunity to make direct contact with employers and submit their CVs. Also, at the BAPN stand the visitors could get more information about the organization and future programs, BAPN stated.
