meeting2Yesterday was signed a contract for the construction of embankments on the Praca River whose value amounted to almost 6.5 million BAM, in the municipality of Pale in the FB&H.

Construction of embankments in Praca will be funded for the most part by the World Bank and co-financiers are Government of FB&H and the Agency for Water Area of Sava River. For this small municipality in FB&H, this is one of the largest infrastructural project of reintegration in FB&H until today.

For the local community, the construction of embankments on Praca River means resolving one of the biggest and the most urgent problems of the municipality. Past floods and damages have caused serious problems for the residents of this part of the BPK Gorazde for decades and caused millions in damage.

“With the implementation of this project we will solve the problem on the level of the century-old water on locations from settlement Praca until Hrenovice, which is more than 6 kilometers long section,” said Asim Zec, the Mayor of Municipality Pale in the FB&H.

riverAlojz Dundjer, director of the Project Implementation Unit of the World Bank stated that the deadline for completion of works is 11 months from the moment when contractors make valid documentation after which they can start.
