Nineteen New Cases of Coronavirus Infection have been confirmed in Sarajevo

In the Sarajevo Canton, 19 new cases of coronavirus infection have been confirmed, according to this morning’s report from the Public Health Institute of Canton Sarajevo.

These are the results of testing 203 samples, collected in the period from 20 to 23 August 2020.

Of this number of newly infected, 12 of them (63.2 percent) belong to family clusters, and are in self-isolation from before.

During yesterday, the recovery of 41 people was recorded, so that the number of active cases of coronavirus infection was reduced to 598.

There are 53 people in hospital, in the Isolation of the Clinical Center of the University of Sarajevo.

Two patients use respirator support when breathing. The total number of deaths from coronavirus infection in Sarajevo Canton remains 64.

There are 1,097 people in self-isolation. According to the Institute, 3,684 people have been infected in the Sarajevo Canton since the beginning of the coronavirus pandemic, while a total of 3,022 people have recovered in the same period.
