Energoinvest JSC Sarajevo successfully completed one of the largest post-war projects on the construction of transmission lines before the due date. Namely, the transmission line 110 kV S/S Babice – S/S Sarande was successfully put under voltage these days, thus finalizing the last 104 km of transmission lines within the contract 110 kV South Albania Lot 2. By completing this line, Energoinvest realized the contract with the investor, OST Albania (Elektroprenos Albanija) and thus constructed a total of 249 kilometers of 110 kV transmission lines and extended 5 substations of 110 kV voltage lever, which is the first time in the history of Energoinvest to execute a project of this kind in Albania.
“The terrain we constructed these transmission lines on is certainly one of the most demanding terrains that Energoinvest has ever worked on in its history, and for sure one of the most demanding terrains for transmission lines in Europe. Majority of substations on this project were up to 60 years old, with old and unfamiliar equipment without any project documentation, thus making the system integration a real challenge for our engineers. However, our people completed this large project successfully and before the due date,” said the Director of Energoinvest branches in Albania and Kosovo Nedim Ibraković.
Naser Milać, Director of Energoinvest’s Engineering for Transmission Lines Sector, who was the project holder, said: “This way, we one more proved that Energoinvest is a respectable company able to realize the most demanding projects in the field of energetics. Acknowledgments for such work are coming from both investors and consultants, who were quite skeptical at the beginning of the project, especially regarding the overall possibility to complete such a complex project within deadlines foreseen in the contract. Congratulations now arrive from all sides”.
As a reminder, at the international tender financed by the German bank KfW, Energoinvest JSC Sarajevo won and got the job of constructing transmission line which should reinforce the electrical energy supply of the southern zone of Albania. The contract was signed in late January 2013, works began on March 31, 2013 and were successfully completed ahead of schedule. Besides this project, Energoinvest is implementing another great project in Albania, on the construction of transmission line of 400 kV, which should also be successfully completed in spring 2016.
