Every season is beautiful in Počitelj. Autumn has its magic as well, its colors and flavors, and the most beautiful are those of pomegranate and tangerines.
Počitelj is a historical settlement of oriental-Mediterranean character located in the valley of the Neretva River and one of the most beautiful cultural-historical units in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
Počitelj represents a fortress which originates from the medieval times. It is situated on the left bank of the Neretva River, near Čapljina. The fort protected the entrance into the valley of lower Neretva.
In January 2003, historical urban area of Počitelj was declared the national monument of BiH. In 2007, it was nominated for the World Heritage of UNESCO.
