BOSNIA-EU-BALKANS-SUMMITEU Commissioner for Enlargement Štefan Fule announced at a conference of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), which is held in London on the topic ‘Investing in the Western Balkans’, a new EU approach towards this part of Europe.

The new approach will focus on economic reform and development, said Commissioner Fule and added that no Western Balkan country has a functioning market economy, announced BHT1.

He added that the European Commission plans to initiate discussions with countries in the region on macroeconomic, fiscal and financial stability, like what they have with Kosovo already.

‘’Our dialogue will be based on national reform programs, and the result should be joint set of recommendations for each country. We will together with the International Monetary Fund give technical assistance in implementing the recommendations’’, said Commissioner Fule.
