EU Council Working Party on WB met with Prosecution Office of BiH

The Chief Prosecutor of the Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Gordana Tadić, met with the EU Council Working Party on the Western Balkans Region that is visiting Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The meeting was held in the new building of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH, which was built with support of EU funds and to which the prosecution staff relocated mid last year, in order to ensure quality and professional conditions for the work of prosecutors and staff of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH.

The central topics discussed were the efforts and activities of the BiH Prosecutor’s Office on strengthening the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina on its European integration path.

The Chief Prosecutor presented, to the EU visitors, the work and activities of the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH on war crimes cases and the fight against impunity for war crimes in BiH and the region, then on activities undertaken and planned in the area of combating corruption and financial crimes, as well as on counter-terrorism activities and prosecution of terrorism-related cases, hate crimes or discrimination.

The guests from the European Union expressed their support to the Prosecutor’s Office of BiH in its efforts to strengthen institutional capacities and the rule of law in Bosnia and Herzegovina.
