EU Delegation to BiH and OHR commented on Reis Kavazovic’s Statement

The silence that occurred in the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina (FBiH) and the diplomatic missions in Sarajevo after the statement of the Reis in BiH is perhaps more dangerous than Reis’s weapons rattling.

This is how the President of the Republika Srpska (RS), Milorad Dodik, addressed the international addresses in BiH, on the occasion of Reis Kavazovic‘s statements.

And then, only because of the concerns expressed by ReisKavazovic in the interview, the European Union (EU)Delegation to BiH and the Office of the High Representative (OHR) “stood up” against him.

”Persons in responsible positions in BiH should lead efforts to calm tensions and build trust for the benefit of all citizens in BiH, as well as BiH’s progress towards EU membership, ” it was told by the EU Delegation in BiH.

The EU Delegation invited social, political and religious leaders to focus on constructive dialogue and improvement of the political atmosphere in BiH.

”The EU expects all social, political and religious leaders in BiH to act in a way that promotes the creation of an environment suitable for reconciliation, according to the EU Delegation in BiH.

The OHR, as well as the High Representative himself, has great respect for Reisu-l-ulema Kavazovic, ” the institution stated on Twitter.

”People who are responsible for promoting positive development in BiH should jointly emphasize that there is nothing that could connect the situation in 2023 with the terrible circumstances of 1992.

The institutions of BiH are a place for political discussions. There is no need to defend them with weapons. There is a strong and sustainable commitment, both at the international and domestic level, regarding the functioning of institutions. All issues and discussions should be resolved by democratic measures and within the framework of the Dayton Peace Agreement,” the OHR stated.
