Earlier this week, the AFBiH Demining Battalion was visited by EU Policy Officer for the European Peace Facility of European External Action Service (EEAS) Mrs. Angelica LAZAR and Special Matter Experts of HQ EUFOR as a part of a fact finding mission in order to gain information about challenges and needs of this unique unit.
The AFBiH Demining Battalion is responsible for more than 35% of the yearly result of demining in BiH, contributing to a safe and secure environment for all BiH citizens. The main operations are done by 34 demining teams plus 9 explosive detection dog teams. The visitors were highly impressed by the commitment and professionalism of the AFBiH Demining Battalion and are looking into possibilities to increase the capacity and efficiency of this unit.
