An expert team from the EU attended an official inspection and education session yesterday in the company “Posavina-koka” in Orašje.
The reason for the visit was to check whether the company fulfills European standards so that in the future it could be found on the list of companies that could export its products to the European Union.
Matijaž Guček from the Department of Food Safety from Slovenia said that in this company there had been an inspection earlier, and added that he sees positive progress in fulfilling European legislation, but that there are still some gaps that need to be improved.
Darko Đurasović, the cantonal veterinary inspector said that the gaps would be removed in the next two to three months, so that the company could export poultry and eggs to Croatia and other EU countries.
The final decision for this would be brought by the EU Food and Veterinary Department, which will send its inspection to check on the situation in the company.
