EUFOR Commander Major General Maurizio Fronda met with the Deputy Minister of Defence of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Mr. Aleksandar Goganović, during an office call focused on the current security environment and the continued cooperation between EUFOR and the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the security situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the wider region, while reaffirming the shared importance of dialogue, partnership, and close cooperation in maintaining stability throughout the country.
Discussions also highlighted the strong and enduring relationship between EUFOR and the institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with particular emphasis on continued collaboration in support of a safe and secure environment for all citizens, in accordance with EUFOR’s mandate under Operation Althea.
Speaking following the meeting, Major General Fronda underlined the value of cooperation with domestic partners.
“Close cooperation and open dialogue with the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina remain fundamental to our mission. By working together and maintaining strong professional relationships, we strengthen our collective ability to support stability and contribute to a safe and secure environment for all citizens,” said Major General Fronda.
The meeting reaffirmed the shared commitment of both parties to continued engagement and cooperation, recognising that strong partnerships and mutual understanding remain essential to supporting long-term peace and stability across Bosnia and Herzegovina.
As a visible, credible, and impartial force, EUFOR continues to work alongside the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina and international partners in support of its mandate to maintain a safe and secure environment throughout the country.
