COM EUFOR, Major General Maurizio Fronda, together with the Commander of NATO Headquarters Sarajevo, hosted an Ambassadors’ Roundtable at Camp Butmir today, bringing together senior diplomatic and international representatives for discussions on developments affecting the security environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The roundtable provided a forum for participants to exchange views, strengthen situational awareness and maintain close coordination between EUFOR, NATO and the wider international community.

COM EUFOR and COM NATO HQ Sarajevo provided participants with briefings, followed by a roundtable discussion examining possible developments during 2026 and their potential impact on the safe and secure environment in Bosnia and Herzegovina. Specific topics included the General Elections, the OHR situation and Exercise Quick Response 2026.

Following the roundtable, representatives took part in a Memorandum of Understanding signing ceremony renewing evacuation arrangements for diplomatic missions in Sarajevo.

The renewed agreements reaffirm the procedures and responsibilities through which EUFOR can support the evacuation of participating embassies should the security situation require it. The renewal ensures that coordination arrangements, responsibilities and communication channels remain current and clearly understood by all parties.

The signing forms part of EUFOR’s wider contingency planning and demonstrates the importance of maintaining practical arrangements alongside regular political and security dialogue. Regular engagement with diplomatic representatives and international organisations helps EUFOR maintain a shared understanding of the security environment, strengthen coordination and ensure that established procedures remain effective and ready to be implemented if required.

EUFOR remains committed to close cooperation with NATO Headquarters Sarajevo, the diplomatic community and international partners in support of peace, stability and a safe and secure environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
