EUFOR Commander Major General Maurizio Fronda visited the University Clinical Centre Sarajevo (CCUS), where he met with senior representatives to discuss the Centre’s continued progress in modernisation and strategic development, as well as the ongoing cooperation between EUFOR and University Clinical Centre Sarajevo.

The meeting provided an opportunity to exchange views on the University Clinical Centre Sarajevo’s achievements so far this year, with discussions focusing on modernisation initiatives and strategic projects aimed at further enhancing healthcare capabilities.

Major General Fronda also reaffirmed EUFOR’s commitment to its partnership with University Clinical Centre Sarajevo, building upon the Technical Agreement signed by both parties in January 2026. The agreement established a framework for closer cooperation and mutual support, in the field of emergency medical response involving the EUFOR Aviation Detachment. Speaking following the meeting, Major General Fronda highlighted the importance of the partnership.

“Strong cooperation between military and civilian institutions is essential to ensuring effective emergency medical support. Our partnership with the University Clinical Centre Sarajevo strengthens preparedness, enhances interoperability, and demonstrates our shared commitment to providing timely and coordinated responses when required,” said Major General Fronda. The visit reaffirmed the shared commitment of both organisations to continued collaboration in support of emergency medical capabilities and operational readiness.

EUFOR remains committed to working closely with the authorities and institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina, supporting cooperation and interoperability in accordance with its mandate to contribute to a safe and secure environment throughout the country.
