EUFOR troops continued Exercise Quick Response 2026 on 31 August with coordinated multinational training in Mostar, Drvar and Tuzla, testing the ability of participating forces to deploy rapidly and respond effectively across different locations in Bosnia and Herzegovina.

In Mostar, Austrian troops secured routes around the exercise area while Italian and Dutch personnel deployed by CH-47 Chinook as part of a para-denial scenario. The activity tested the ability of multinational forces to combine air and ground capabilities, secure key areas and respond rapidly within a complex operational environment.

In Drvar, Italian and Albanian troops deployed to the area and conducted a patrol towards the EUFOR Liaison and Observation Team House. Working in coordination with local law enforcement agencies, the troops rehearsed procedures for securing the area and extracting EUFOR personnel before redeploying by helicopter.

In Tuzla, French troops conducted coordinated training around an ammunition and weapons storage site. Multiple elements were employed during the activity, including troops operating with unmanned aerial systems, testing their ability to establish security and respond effectively as part of the wider exercise scenario.

The activities demonstrated EUFOR’s capacity to deploy multinational forces rapidly, integrate different capabilities and coordinate with the authorities of Bosnia and Herzegovina when required. Exercise Quick Response 2026 continues to test EUFOR’s readiness, credibility and ability to reinforce its forces in support of its mandate and the maintenance of a safe and secure environment for all citizens of Bosnia and Herzegovina.
