EUFOR capacities, including technical equipment and personnel, will be used if necessary to provide assistance in resolving difficulties caused by heavy snowfalls, at the request of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

The Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina announced that EUFOR Commander Laslo Štic and the Minister of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina Nenad Nešić had a telephone conversation, and that on that occasion it was emphasized that EUFOR capacities will be used if necessary, at the request of the Ministry of Security of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with prior coordination with local authorities and competent institutions.

“EUFOR has once again proven that it is an important partner of Bosnia and Herzegovina, not only in preserving stability, but also in resolving specific challenges affecting our citizens,” said Nešić.

Heavy snowfall over the past two days has affected Bosnia and Herzegovina, and according to data from the Federal Hydrometeorological Institute (FHMZ) published this morning, the most snowfall occurred on Bjelašnica, where a height of 174 centimeters of snow cover was measured, while in Sarajevo, 28.
